About Dr. Richard Marasa
Dr. Richard Marasa serves as Principal Investigator at Vitalix Clinical’s Springfield location, where he has served since 2025. He has more than four decades of clinical and healthcare leadership experience and is board-certified in Addiction Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Medical Management.
Dr. Marasa has served in multiple leadership roles, including Medical Director of Mount Ascutney Hospital and Medical Center in Windsor, Vermont, Clearsteps Recovery Center in Londonderry, New Hampshire and Needham, Massachusetts, and Aftermath Recovery Center.
His research experience spans neurology and psychiatry, including Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, cognitive impairment, infectious disease, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance use disorders, PTSD, and vaccine studies.
Dr. Marasa earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Addiction Medicine
Board-certified in Addiction Medicine and a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Marasa has served as Medical Director for multiple recovery centers across New Hampshire and Massachusetts, adding real-world depth to Vitalix’s SUD and behavioral health research.
CNS & Clinical Research
Investigator experience across Phase II and III trials in depression, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and traumatic brain injury, along with Lyme disease vaccine studies.
Healthcare Leadership
Board-certified in Medical Management, a Certified Physician Executive, and a former hospital COO, Dr. Marasa brings proven leadership to running efficient, well-managed trials.
